Friday afternoon, Fox News Houston reported that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted for reckless or negligent injury to a child.
The indictment is reportedly related to Peterson disciplining his son with a switch. The investigation has apparently been going on for some time, with Peterson testifying before a grand jury weeks ago, an unusual step for a child abuse case.
Fox News Houston reporter Isiah Carey reports that Peterson was brought before a grand jury twice, and was not indicted initially. Peterson is expected to turn himself in to Texas law enforcement, and will not play this Sunday.
Last year, a different son of Peterson's was murdered by a man who was then the boyfriend of the boy's mother.
