The unemployment rate remains at an abnormally high level nationally, but an improved job market and regional variation mean that we now have twenty metropolitan areas with unemployment rates below 4 percent. This map shows the places to move to if you're looking for a job:

The bad news is that these are mostly very small metro areas. Salt Lake City is just under a million residents, and the rest are really small. So it's not as if we could find jobs for all the jobless people by having them move to Bismarck and Iowa City.
