Map: A majority of LGBT Americans now live in a state with marriage equality

Following the Supreme Court's decision earlier this week, 27 states and the District of Columbia are now issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. David Mendoza, using US Census Bureau, Williams Institute, and Gallup data, estimated that 57.4 percent — a majority — of LGBT Americans live in states that allow them to marry.
