With graduation season underway, a lot of young people are looking for advice as they make their way into the work world. And as the world’s richest man, Bill Gates is an ideal person to give advice. On Monday, Gates took to Twitter to dispense some wisdom for today’s young people.

He ends the tweetstorm on an optimistic note, pointing out that despite a seemingly endless parade of scary headlines, the world has actually been getting steadily richer and more peaceful in the past few decades.

Correction: My headline originally said that Gates regretted not fighting inequality, but he actually said inequity.
