Many people are looking at Tuesday’s election results in horror, as it looks increasingly likely that Donald Trump will win the race for the White House. But there is one group that seems extremely happy: white supremacists and white nationalists.
Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke was ecstatic (even though he lost his Senate bid):
GOD BLESS DONALD TRUMP! It's time to do the right thing, it's time to TAKE AMERICA BACK!!!#MAGA #AmericaFirst #LockHerUp #GodBlessAmerica pic.twitter.com/1mVrrs0kFF

So was Jared Taylor, editor of American Renaissance and author of White Identity: Racial Consciousness in the 21st Century:
I honestly didn't think he could do it, but it looks as though there is now a good chance @realDonaldTrump will win. Another Brexit!

So was Richard Spencer, who’s widely regarded as the founder of the racist alt-right:

And reporters shared some telling anecdotes:
A euphoric white nationalist tells me he thinks Trump will be just gateway drug: “If u like Coca-Cola, don't drink Diet, drink a regular”

It’s really no surprise that these people are so happy about the results. Trump has made a campaign out of clearly racist messages, following a long history of making racist remarks before he was a presidential candidate. For white nationalists, this really is a night for them to celebrate.
