J. Matt is a documentary photographer, filmmaker, and feature writer who hails from and is based in Honolulu. Their work, which has appeared in Lapham's quarterly, among others, principally focuses on global warming and its intersections with place, ecology, and social, political, and economic histories. They are a photographer for the Zuma Press wire service and are currently working on a book of essays and photographs about Waikiki.
