I cover policy by making explainers with charts and cartoons, like this piece on Obamacare.

I cover media by analyzing large amount of data, like two years of Hannity transcripts.

But what I enjoy covering most is how small decisions accrue into invisible problems, like segregation, discrimination, and ultimately dehumanization. So to make them visible, I've made stories like this game, this GIF-driven piece, this long-form cartoon, and this map-driven video.

I've been a data journalist at the Boston Globe, ESPN, and the Connecticut Mirror. I currently teach data journalism at the New School and have a master's degree from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program.
