One of the most interesting storylines in commerce right now is not found in the U.S. or China, but in India, where Walmart recently agreed to pay $16 billion for a majority stake in Flipkart, the country’s homegrown rival to Amazon.
When it closes, the deal will provide Flipkart with one of the most powerful allies in retail as it goes up against Amazon’s logistics might — and checkbook — in perhaps the most important emerging e-commerce market in the world.
With this backdrop, I’m very happy to announce that Flipkart Group co-founder and CEO Binny Bansal will join me onstage for a candid interview at our two-day Code Commerce event, taking place on September 17 and 18 in New York City. There’s obviously a lot to discuss.
Bansal joins a speaker lineup that already includes the CEOs of retail and e-commerce heavyweights like Shopify, Macy’s, Instacart, Crate and Barrel and Zola. Attendees will also hear from the head of Instagram’s business platform and many more industry leaders to be announced in the coming weeks.
Last year’s event did sell out — and registration prices increase on August 3 — so sign up today.
