On Thursday, a group of 300 business leaders co-signed a letter to President Trump and leaders in Congress, imploring them to continue to protect “Dreamers,” children brought illegally to the United States, from being deported.

The initial list of signers included Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky.

Cook added an Apple-specific detail to his appeal, tweeting on Sunday morning that 250 of the company’s employees are Dreamers:

The executives who spoke out in defense of Dreamers last week were reacting to reports that Trump would order the government to stop issuing new work permits for undocumented young adults, and stop renewing existing permits. Although this policy change was originally expected before Labor Day weekend, the White House now says an announcement is coming on Tuesday.
