Sweetgreen co-CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman and Glossier founder and CEO Emily Weiss talked with Recode’s Dan Frommer and Racked’s Cheryl Wischhover at Code Commerce on Thursday.

Neman, an LA native, helped found Sweetgreen in 2007. Neman described Sweetgreen’s decision to go cashless at its roughly 75 salad-focused restaurants in California and the Northeast as a “good experiment.”

Weiss gained a following as a blogger, where she interviewed household names about their beauty regimens for her website, Into the Gloss. When she launched Glossier in 2014, she made an effort to incorporate her readers into the product development process.
