Steve Ballmer said he never tried to buy Twitter while at Microsoft, during his interview with Kara Swisher at the Code Conference at the Terranea Resort in California.

The former Microsoft CEO and current LA Clippers owner is a well-known Twitter investor, holding about 4 percent of the social media company. Though he didn’t try to buy it, he said, “There is a real opportunity to make that a valuable economic asset.”
