Thor: Ragnarok: watch the movie’s first official trailer

What the Hela?

The very first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok has arrived, giving us the first glimpse at what Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk have been up to since Avengers: Age of Ultron.

It also lets us see Cate Blanchett’s Hela for the first time, and is completely weird in the best way possible.

Thor is in a gladiator-style battle with the Hulk. Hela stops Mjøllnir with her bare hands and lays ruin to Asgard. And Jeff Goldblum looks spectacularly bizarre.

Thor: Ragnarok, directed by Taika Waititi, is the third film in the Thor franchise — often considered one of Marvel’s less notable superhero franchises. Though, let’s be honest, only a few superhero films can compete with breakout sensations like Guardians of the Galaxy or the ever-improving Captain America series and come out ahead.

Ragnarok might change that and breathe new life into the Thor franchise with some major star power in the form of Blanchett; Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Marvel’s best bad guy, Loki; a rumored appearance by Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange; and the screwball weirdness of incorporating the Hulk into a Shakespearean superhero world.

Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
