Oh, Elon:
Technology breakthrough: turns out chemtrails are actually a message from time-traveling aliens describing the secret of teleportation
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 1, 2017
Why did we waste so much time developing silly rockets? Damn you, aliens! So obtuse! You have all this crazy tech, but can't speak English!?

For the unaware, “chemtrails” refers to a conspiracy theory that the vapor trails left in the sky by jets are sinister chemicals being sprayed by the government. Given that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO is an adviser to a conspiracy-minded president who has ignored government experts and proposed massive cuts to science funding, this is maybe not the best look?
And as Box CEO Aaron Levie points out, the real bizarre stuff technologists like Musk are working on makes silly jokes about chemtrails a little strange:
April Fools' Day has become much more complicated now that Musk is connecting brains to computers and Bezos is designing flying warehouses.

The tweet Musk should have tweeted was scooped by the parody account Bored Elon Musk:
April Fools' Year
