Marc Lore has a lot on going on these days: Acquisitions, management overhauls and trying to build on the momentum of Walmart’s e-commerce growth during the holidays.
We’re adding one more thing to his plate: An onstage interview at Recode’s Code Commerce event, which I’m hosting with Kara Swisher next month in Las Vegas.
The exclusive evening gathering runs from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, March 20, during the Shoptalk conference at the Aria. If you care about the impact of technology on the retail industry, you should be there.
There will be a lot to talk about that night. Walmart, you may remember, paid $3 billion to acquire Lore’s e-commerce startup Jet.com last year. But the deal was just as much about acquiring Lore himself. He now runs the retailer’s U.S. e-commerce operations — and is tasked with trying to transform Walmart into a legitimate competitor to Amazon.
How does he plan to do that? And why should we believe it’ll work? We’ll ask him that and more at Code Commerce in a month.
The three-hour event will also feature candid interviews with two other impressive entrepreneurs we previously announced: Stitch Fix’s Katrina Lake and Bevel razor creator Tristan Walker. Plus, we make sure to give you ample time to network with some of your smartest peers over appetizers and adult beverages to kick off the night.
The catch? We have limited seating and will sell out soon. So be the savvy person you are and register for your seat today.
