Running corporate development for Alphabet, Drummond also oversees the Google parent company’s investment arms, GV (formerly Google Ventures) and CapitalG (formerly Google Capital), which just led a $1 billion funding round in Lyft.
Drummond also helps lead Google and Alphabet’s $32 million+ racial justice portfolio. In October, the company provided a $1 million grant to The Hidden Genius Project, an Oakland-based organization that helps young black males get into tech.
Today, he was in Chicago to present a $1.5 million grant to Chance the Rapper’s nonprofit, SocialWorks, and Chicago Public Schools, aimed at bringing computer science education to more kids.
