Dropbox General Counsel Ramsey Homsany is leaving

The file-sharing startup has named Bart Volkmer to replace him.

Cloud storage company Dropbox announced a change in its legal office in an email to employees today.

Ramsey Homsany, Dropbox's general counsel, has decided to leave the company. Bart Volkmer, its head of litigation and regulatory affairs, will be promoted to general counsel effective June 20.

Homsany has been Dropbox's general counsel for more than five years, and was its first in-house lawyer. He joined from Google, where he spent eight years as a VP and deputy general counsel. Both he and Volkmer are alums of the Silicon Valley law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati.
