Brown's company has developed a plant-based meat alternative to beef that he said can outperform on taste while also having a substantially smaller impact on the environment. Crenn, meanwhile, chose not to serve any animal meat in her second San Francisco restaurant because of concerns about climate change and the meat industry's excesses.
