Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton is back in the Bay Area for another fundraiser tonight, though this time, campaign contributions start at $45 — a modest fee that’s likely to keep the pot-clangers away.
It’s the antithesis of Clinton’s last event in San Francisco, when supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders crowded the streets with signs flogging the former Secretary of State for the big-dollar affair headlined by Hollywood celebrity George Clooney.
Contributions for tonight’s fundraiser max out at $2,700 per person, with a limited number of tickets available for $45 and $125. The main draws — aside from candidate — are actress Elizabeth Banks; author of the best-selling memoir "Wild," Cheryl Strayed; and U.S. Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein of California.
Clinton appears at a campaign event today at La Escuelita Elementary in Oakland. Doors open at 2 pm.
Former President Bill Clinton is also in California today, at a reception in Los Angeles.
