Donald Trump's taco bowl, explained

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump — an incredible phrase that I can now write — came out with a shocking tweet today claiming that the Trump Tower taco bowls are "the best."

Setting aside Trump's dubious claim that he loves Hispanics, the fact that the feeling is not mutual, and the blatant pandering, there are a few problems with Trump's tweet.

For one, it does not seem like the Trump Tower Grill actually serves taco bowls. But the Trump Café is offering them today — as "taco fiesta." We can assume that's what he meant.

But if this is the case, the tacos, like Trump's food in general, don't seem to be very good. Over at Eater, Robert Sietsema reviewed a lot of Trump's food, including the tacos. Sietsema wrote:

On the same pass I also ordered "beef tacos" ($13.50) which turned out to be a fried tortilla bowl heaped with romaine lettuce, grated yellow cheese, and plain ground beef that was so devoid of flavor, it rendered an insult to Mexicans every bit as profound as Trump’s previous pronouncements. Trump food is bland food.

Based on this, it seems the only sentence with any factual merit in Trump's tweet is "Happy #CincoDeMayo!" Although whether today is actually happy is up to you.
