Kids React is a long-running YouTube series by Fine Brothers Entertainment in which children react to all sorts of topics, from video games to music to politics. But finally, there's the Kids React episode we've been waiting for: Donald Trump.
It went as you'd expect — with almost all the kids taking issue with Trump's tone and rhetoric.
Here are some of the best lines from the kids:
- On Trump saying he got a "small loan of a million dollars" from his father: "Wait, a small loan of a million dollars?" "'It hasn't been easy for me, but I'm filthy rich.'"
- On Trump insulting other politicians, calling them stupid and liars: "Like yourself?" "He's talking about himself." "So undiplomatic." "It's kind of like me and my brother."
- On Trump abruptly complaining about the quality of his microphone: "He's like a 5-year-old. … He throws tantrums about stupid things."
- On Trump calling women "fat pigs, slobs, and disgusting animals": "That is so rude." "He speaks his mind, but his mind isn't right." "Classic Trump."
One of the kids seemed to like Trump, saying, "He's funny. He's a nice guy. But the other people are rude to him. They don't let him talk." (Although he later added, "If he's going to be rude to ladies, he shouldn't be a president.")
But generally, the kids did not like his temperament. One girl noted, "A lot of people like him only because he says things that other people don't have the courage to say. … But sometimes you just gotta keep some certain things in." One boy said, "He's just really racist. … If you want to be president, you shouldn't be racist."
One boy even went against his parents: "My parents like him because they say he speaks his mind. But I hate him."
