A New Trailer for HBO's 'Silicon Valley,' the Only TV Show That Gets How Dumb We Are

The Pied Piper team returns for round three.

The third season of HBO’s “Silicon Valley” arrives on April 24, alongside new episodes of “Veep” and “Game of Thrones.” For now, you can watch a 30-second preview of the show.

Without giving away too much about the plot, it seems as though our doofy and doe-eyed protagonist, Richard, is looking to take back the top job at Pied Piper, the startup he founded back in Season One. In the trailer, Richard and his gang of misfits — male hoodie-clad spazzes with more coding aptitude than common sense — endure nosebleeds, fashion mishaps and awkward conversations with obstinate, wealthy assholes.

Though “Silicon Valley” is occasionally too childish or heavy-handed in the way it talks about the tech industry and the people in it, the show is mostly a sympathetic portrait of the simple rubes with big dreams who make up the startup world. Re/code’s Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg had cameos in the first and second seasons of the show, so perhaps we’re a little biased.
