The best tech reporting of 2016

It’s been a hard year. Here’s some good reading.

2016 was pretty bad. We lost a number of great artists and writers; we dragged ourselves through an endless presidential election; there were terrorist attacks in the U.S. and across the world; numerous police shootings; and then there was Zika and Brexit.

But there was some good. The Olympics turned out pretty great (outside of that whole fake police report embarrassment), there’s this epic rock-paper-scissors battle video that should be mandatory viewing for anyone depressed, Beyoncé made the world “Lemonade” and India planted 50 million trees in one day.

Another winner of 2016 was tech journalism, which really shone across the industry. So as we head into the end of the year, we asked you to submit some of the best reads from 2016. We also sprinkled in recommendations from our own reporters and editors.

We hope you enjoy.
