Amazon has been talking about delivering packages via drones for a couple of years. Now it says it is actually doing it: Amazon says it completed its first trial delivery — done without the assistance of a human pilot — last week in Cambridge, England.
CEO Jeff Bezos, who should be en route to the Trump tech summit today in New York, tweeted out the (promotional) news this morning.
First-ever #AmazonPrimeAir customer delivery is in the books. 13 min—click to delivery. Check out the video: https://t.co/Xl8HiQMA1S pic.twitter.com/5HGsmHvPlE

And here’s the video he wants you to watch:
We’re still a long way from this becoming something more than just a test run — but then again, this was all purely conceptual a few years ago. Now Amazon is pushing closer. If it gets there, what does that mean for the people Amazon currently pays to deliver packages to your door?
Good question to talk about today in New York.
