Amazon appears to tweak Donald Trump with a new Prime ad promoting religious tolerance

It looks like a not-so-subtle dig at Trump and his not-so-open-minded cabinet appointees.

What a week.

Fake news is apparently rampant on Facebook and Google. Donald Trump is being extremely Donald Trump. And the media world is losing more jobs.

Thankfully, Amazon came to the rescue.

The company released a new commercial this week highlighting a touching relationship between a priest and an imam (who also happen to send each other gifts using Amazon Prime).

It appears to be a not-so-subtle dig at Trump and his not-so-open-minded cabinet appointees. If you’ll remember, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos once jokingly suggested sending Trump into space on one of his Blue Origin rockets. So there’s no love lost there.

Regardless, it’s a clever and timely commercial. Here it is, in case you want a pick-me-up.

Update: Here’s a statement from an Amazon spokesperson regarding the commercial.

“This advertisement was produced and booked to appear on TV before the election result was known.”
