Google virtual reality boss Clay Bavor says video is key for mobile VR

VR will show us things we can’t get anywhere else.

At An Evening with Code Mobile, Google virtual reality chief Clay Bavor talked with Recode’s Ina Fried about how Google is trying to make Android the primary operating system for VR. Here's the full video of the interview.

Bavor said that Google’s new VR headset Daydream View and the phones it works with — the Pixel and Pixel XL — are reference models for other companies to emulate. The company’s real interest is in encouraging people to make VR video content.

“The real world has been strange this week, but in general, the real world is an amazing place,” he said. “There are all of these incredible things happening that I would love to see and I think most people would love to see.”
