Oculus mobile exec Max Cohen says ‘millions’ have tried Gear VR

In this video of his appearance at An Evening with Code Mobile, Cohen says mobile will bring VR to mainstream consumers.

At An Evening with Code Mobile, Oculus VP of Mobile Max Cohen talked with Recode’s Dan Frommer about the future of virtual reality and why VR delivered by mobile phones is crucial for the medium’s future. Here's the full video of the interview.

Cohen acknowledged that mobile-delivered VR is not the highest-end experience currently available. For that, consumers seeking the bleeding edge will still need a headset tethered to a high-powered personal computer — for now, at least.

To date, “millions of users” have collectively spent more than 20 million hours in Oculus’ current mobile headset, the Samsung Gear VR.
