Most men think sexism is over, so I asked Joss Whedon to read them my thoughts

Good news ladies: According to a majority of men in the United States, sexism is totally over! Indeed, a recent Pew Research Center study shows that 56 percent of men think discrimination based on gender is a thing of the past. Burn all your Lean In books, or use them to store all the piles of equal pay money you’re definitely not making yet.

I wanted to write about this strange, blissful, sexist-free world many men appear to live in, but I’ve observed that when women talk about sexism, people pay less attention to them. When men talk about sexism, though, they tend to generate quite a buzz. So I found a person everyone loves hearing feminist musings from: a progressive white dude!

Joss Whedon — creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and writer and director of The Avengers (and pretty much every other beautiful cinematic creation in recent history) — graciously offered to read some of my thoughts on camera. Some of them are pretty specific to men, and others are pretty specific to a guy named Brian.
