Leslie Jones took on her Twitter trolls and hackers on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Leslie Jones had a rough summer on the internet.

Trolls hounded her off Twitter, and hackers got their hands on nude photos of her — and posted them.

But! There were some upsides.

Jones’s Twitter travails — she’s back on now — helped highlight the service’s problem with toxic users. (Though Twitter seems unable or unwilling to do much about it.)

And her experience gave her fodder for a great four-minute bit last night on “Saturday Night Live,” where she took on her digital tormentors.

Her message:

“If you want to hurt anyone these days, you have to do way more than leak their nudes or call them names,” she said from the “SNL” news desk. “You can’t embarrass me more than I have embarrassed myself. I know all the details. ’Cause I was there.”

“Trust me — at a certain point, you stop being embarrassed, and start being you. And I have been me for 49 years. Because the only person who can hack me, is me.”
