Gogoro's First Scooters Hitting the Road in Taiwan

The company says it has received more than 400 orders as part of a beta program in Taipei.

Gogoro, which aims to build a network of scooters and chargers in urban cities around the globe, plans to start delivering its first preordered scooters on Saturday.

The company said it has received more than 400 orders for its beta program in Taiwan, a number it says it is pleased with. The company also has 65 of its charging stations in Taiwan’s capital city of Taipei.

Gogoro unveiled its scooter and plans back at CES in January.

The company, led by former HTC executive Horace Luke, has raised on the order of $150 million from backers including HTC founder Cher Wang.
