It’s often said that SeatGeek wants to do for event ticketing what Kayak.com did for airline ticketing: Make as much of the world’s ticket inventory searchable in one spot. Now SeatGeek co-founders Jack Groetzinger and Russ D’Souza have a very experienced executive they can lean on for advice. Kayak co-founder and CEO Steve Hafner has joined SeatGeek’s board of directors, as the New York City startup tries to become a serious competitor to bigger online ticketing companies such as StubHub. SeatGeek has raised more than $100 million in venture capital from Accel Partners, Technology Crossover Ventures and athletes including the Manning brothers.
