Kleiner Perkins Says Ellen Pao Asked for $2.7 Million (Like We Said)

As expected, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers disclosed in a court filing Friday that Reddit CEO Ellen Pao asked for $2.7 million to cover her fees and costs, as part of the venture capital firm’s argument that it has fairly described its own costs in the trial to successfully defend itself against her gender discrimination lawsuit. “Pao’s argument that any reasonable offer must cover her full attorneys’ fees, costs and millions of alleged damages misses the point of settlement and pre-supposes Pao would prevail on all of her claims,” the firm said. Pao has filed paperwork indicating she may appeal, but the costs tug-of-war is currently the pressing issue.
