Ted Cruz really, really likes Donald Trump.
"I think he's terrific, I think he's brash, I think he speaks the truth," Cruz told FOX & Friends on Tuesday morning, noting that Trump shouldn't have to apologize for "speaking out against the problem that is illegal immigration."

Cruz also told FOX & Friends, in response to NBC cutting ties with Trump, that NBC is "engaging in political correctness that is silly and that is wrong." In case you haven't seen what Donald Trump said about Mexicans, here is the comment that fueled NBC and Univision to drop him in a week's time:
"When do we beat Mexico at the border? They're laughing at us, at our stupidity. And now they are beating us economically. They are not our friend, believe me. ... When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They are bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
While Cruz tried his best to legitimize Trump's racist statements to Fox's conservative audience, making amends on Trump's behalf with offended Hispanic voters will be no easy task.
