T-Mobile Goes After Verizon Customers With New Switcher Campaign

The new promo features a two-week test drive.

After spending most of the last two years attacking AT&T, T-Mobile CEO John Legere is turning his attention toward Verizon, launching a new promo targeted specifically at luring its customers to his network.

In the new “Never Settle” promo, announced Monday night, T-Mobile is offering Verizon customers a free two-week trial. As part of the trial, Verizon customers agree to bring their number over to a T-Mobile phone.

At the end of the two weeks, Verizon customers can either return the T-Mobile phone and pay nothing or turn in their Verizon phone and T-Mobile will pay off any outstanding device payments or early termination fees up to $650.

“Last week, I said we would hit right back at Verizon — I meant it,” Legere said in a statement. “T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network is the nation’s fastest. Not faster for the price … just faster, period. With T-Mobile, you don’t have to settle for trickery, gimmicks and carrier BS the way you do with Verizon. I’m so confident in our kick-ass network experience that we’re footing the bill so Verizon customers can give T-Mobile a try.”

While the new promo targets Verizon customers specifically, T-Mobile has in the past offered both a test drive of its network as well as similar incentives to customers who switch. The trial kicks off May 13 and Verizon customers can sign up through May 31.
