Alaska is big. Alaska.org wants to show you exactly how big.

Dylan Matthews is a senior correspondent and head writer for Vox's Future Perfect section and has worked at Vox since 2014. He is particularly interested in global health and pandemic prevention, anti-poverty efforts, economic policy and theory, and conflicts about the right way to do philanthropy.

Did you know Alaska is big? Alaska is big. The Alaska tourism promotion site Alaska.org is particularly invested in spreading the message that Alaska is big, bigness being a key tourist attraction to the state.

Exhibit A in the case that Alaska is big: this National Geographic map showing how big Alaska is compared with the continental US:

But that's not all! Alaska.org offers a fully interactive showing-how-big-Alaska-is tool, wherein you can place any given state inside Alaska and see how puny it becomes. Here's New York:

Texas holds its own a little better, but is still less than half Alaska's size:

California doesn't look pathetic, but you could fit almost four of it into Alaska:

Just for kicks, let's throw in Rhode Island, which has 552 times less land area than Alaska:
