On Monday, March 30, Comedy Central aired the Roast of Justin Bieber, a show where famous people (some much more famous than others) made jokes about the boy king of pop music to his face. Telling Bieber that his music is bad or that he is embarrassing is something many Americans have wanted to do, and this roast was a chance to live vicariously through celebrities like Martha Stewart, Shaq, and Jeff Ross.
There were plenty of lazy gay jokes, which cast a humorless pall over things. But there were also some good digs at Bieber. Here are five of the best jokes from the evening — a chance to watch someone say everything you may have wanted to say to Bieber's face and to see his priceless reactions:
1) "You are the King Joffrey of pop." —Jeff Ross
2) "I hate your music more than Bill Cosby hates my comedy." —Hannibal Buress
3)"You gotta straighten up, son. Last year you were ranked the fifth most-hated person of all time. Kim Jong Un didn't even score that low … and he uses your music to torture people." —Shaq
4) "You bought a monkey." —Snoop Dogg
5) "This kid has spunk, moxie, and probably a few other STDs." —Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy
