Jack Dorsey Celebrates Twitter’s Ninth Birthday With Ode to Media

Um, you’re welcome?

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey celebrated the social media site’s ninth birthday today with a tweet storm about how much the media has meant to the site.

Not the most obvious way to celebrate Twitter’s birthday, right?

It does make sense in a way. A tweet storm is a nice (if cheap) way to thank the thousands of reporters, editors, anchors and other media people who’ve spent years providing free content, videos and promotion to Twitter. (To be fair, Twitter has provided a new distribution platform that has also helped plenty of media, including Re/code.)

Also, nice shout-out to Om Malik.
