Facebook Acquires TheFind, a Product Search Engine

Facebook is buying a product search engine called TheFind to bring in new technology and talent to improve Facebook ads. TheFind is a 10-year-old company that makes a search engine and app that lets users search for physical products for sale on sites all across the Web. Facebook is shutting the service down, but some of TheFind’s employees are joining the Facebook ads team, where they and their technology are expected to try to improve ads on Facebook that feature products, according to a person familiar with the deal. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
