PayPal is creating a new security hub in Israel through the acquisition of a local firm called CyActive, PayPal announced on Tuesday. CyActive “specializes in technology that can predict how malware will develop,” PayPal said, aimed at preventing attacks before they occur. The deal comes at a time in which high-profile breaches such as the Sony hack online and the Target and Home Depot attacks in stores have put pressure on companies to better protect employee and customer data.
