There was a whole lot going on during the Katy Perry halftime show at Sunday’s Super Bowl, including a special Missy Elliott appearance that I, for one, was very excited about. But it seems that all the cool kids gravitated instead toward the dancing sharks during Perry’s rendition of “Teenage Dream.” Perhaps it was the “special” Super Bowl cookies they had been eating.
Either way, it seemed only a matter of time before a brand would attempt to ride the coat-fins of the wacky but alluring sharks. And, sure enough, online men’s fashion brand Bonobos couldn’t resist. The New York City-based company told its Twitter and Instagram followers that it would make “the shark suit” if enough people entered their email address to show interest.

Guess what? A whole lot of you people actually signed up.
“We have thousands of emails,” Bonobos CEO Andy Dunn wrote in an email. “Most-liked Instagram for us of the year. The world is a funny place.”
I told Dunn that I think some of these people seriously think Bonobos is busy developing the perfect fabric for the shark outfit as I type.
“How do you know we are not?” he said.
Just in case Bonobos does not come through with the shark costume, Amazon has you covered:
