Elon Musk: 'Yo, I Don't Hate Apple'

Tesla chief and iconoclast Elon Musk caused a minor media furor after some comments he gave to a German newspaper on Thursday regarding Apple’s automotive ambitions. Apple is building a unit to work on electric and likely autonomous cars, nabbing staffers from the car industry as well as Tesla. Musk told the paper that, internally, he calls the iPhone-maker a “Tesla graveyard” — the place where his insufficient engineers wind up.

Asked about Apple’s plans to build a vehicle, Musk reportedly scoffed: “Did you ever take a look at the Apple Watch?”

By Friday afternoon, it seems Musk did look at the watch differently and was also tweeting out that he’s glad Apple is building an EV, or electric vehicle.
