Ericsson used to make handsets, and for “the first time in 140 years,” the company isn’t making any consumer products. Instead, CEO Hans Vestberg says that the company is focused on improving the global network infrastructure.
Talking with Ina Fried onstage at the Code/Mobile conference at The Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, Calif., Vestberg explained that his “super international company” is working worldwide to speed up the arrival of technologies like 5G Internet. Vestberg also talked about mobile payments, the ultra-competitive smartphone market and more.
