Market Platform Dynamics Chief Executive Karen Webster challenged some popularly held assumptions about the global mobile payments in her remarks at the Code/Mobile conference at The Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, Calif.
Webster said mobile payments have been slow to catch on with the world’s consumers. Here’s why: It’s not solving the right consumer problem. Shoppers don’t have any difficulty pulling a credit card out of their wallets. Rather, they’re most concerned about whether they’re getting the best deal for the item they’ve just purchased.
