Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai, who is currently trying to steer the company through a crippling cyber assault on its film studio as well as working to revive a struggling consumer electronics business, took time to take a bow at the International CES in Las Vegas.

What did he win? The people who hand out the Emmys — the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences — gave Hirai a lifetime achievement award yesterday at its Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards ceremony. The one-time head of the company’s video game group, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., was lauded for his “leadership, innovation and vision.”

Meanwhile, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies are still trying to figure out exactly how the hackers got into Sony’s systems.
