Slack Hires Anne Toth to Lead Policy and Compliance

Slack, the enterprise collaboration startup, has hired former Google and Yahoo privacy exec Anne Toth as VP of policy and compliance strategy. Slack president and co-founder Stewart Butterfield said in an email that Toth’s job will be to “make it simpler for customers in more controlled regulatory environments to switch to Slack.” The company, which bought a workplace document collaboration startup called Spaces last week, is aiming to compete with giants like Google and Microsoft. It has gotten $60 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Accel Partners and Social + Capital Partnership.
