Google+ has acquired Polar, an app that creates and hosts basic online polls. The Polar team is led by Luke Wroblewski, whose writings and observations on mobile user interfaces are well respected, and whose previous startup, Bagcheck, was bought by Twitter. Terms are not being disclosed, but the small Polar team will work on mobile design for Google+ and shut down its own product at the end of the year.
