Pennsylvania became the 27th state to sign on to Obamacare's Medicaid program. The state's governor, Tom Corbett, is now the ninth Republican governor to do so (and 10th if you count Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who has a Medicaid expansion proposal not-yet approved by the Obama administration).
But that still leaves many of the largest states outside of the expansion. Both Texas and Florida, the two largest states run by Republican Governors, are not participating in Obamacare's Medicaid expansion. These two states alone are, by the Kaiser Family Foundation's estimate, leaving 1.8 million low-income residents out of Obamacare.
Among the 10 largest states not expanding Medicaid, there are 3.6 million people who do not have access to the Medicaid expansion.
