Obama spoke at a Thursday press briefing to address serious foreign policy issues like Ukraine and ISIS. Naturally, Twitter responded thoughtfully.

You see, Obama came out not in his usual muted, nondescript dark-colored suit but in what many agreed was some sort of beige-colored monstrosity.

This is a major deviation for the president; he himself has said charcoal and navy suits are how he Gets Things Done.

It made for some light-hearted jokes while he took on some heavy topics. But MSNBC's Irin Carmon may have won the snark-off:

Important women politicians doing important things have had their wardrobe choices nitpicked for years. So should the president wonder exactly how he can be a powerful world leader and still have his clothing choices critiqued, he has a couple of acquaintances he can ask.
