An American Airlines flight bound for San Diego was diverted to Phoenix Sunday after a threat against one of its passengers, Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley, was posted on Twitter. Earlier in the day, a denial of service attack brought down the PlayStation Network, Sony’s online games network, and the hacker group claiming responsibility also claimed that Smedley’s flight had a bomb aboard. Following the diversion, Smedley has since tweeted that “all is well,” but declined to discuss the incident further.
