Palo Alto-based startup Jaunt, which is developing hardware and software to let people film and produce movies in 360-degree virtual reality, said today it had raised $27.8 million in new funding. On top of a previous $6.8 million round, that brings it to more than $34 million raised overall. Although neither Facebook’s Oculus Rift nor Sony’s Project Morpheus has yet to receive a consumer launch date, Jaunt said it expects to be “platform agnostic” once consumer VR is out in the wild.
