Mississippi now has the highest unemployment rate in America

The Bureau of Labor Statistics published its monthly updates on state-level unemployment on Monday, and it's an exciting day for the great state of Mississippi, which is now America's unemployment champion:

Last month, Mississippi was tied with Rhode Island, which had held the brass ring for quite a while.

The lowest unemployment state, meanwhile, continues to be North Dakota, whose combination of oil boom and bad weather mean that basically anyone who's willing to move there seems to be able to find work.
